Week 2 in the books

So I have finished a complete 2 weeks of P90X.

I feel I have about 100x more energy during the day and I sleep like a baby each night.

I have gotten better at each workout the second time around, and I need to really turn it on tomorrow when I start week three.

Week 2 goings on...

Each workout this week has been about 100% easier for me to complete. I did more pushups, more chinups, and lasted longer on all the plyometrics than last week.

I have not seen any noticeable change in the way my body looks. However, I can tell a huge change in how well I sleep and how good I feel during the day.

Tonight is my second go-around with legs. Last week, it was one of the easiest workouts for me, but I still couldn't do the whole thing.

I must keep working hard to achieve visible results. Last weigh in I was 204.7, which is about .5 pounds down.

Week One Down

So today is the last day of P90X Week One. The last workout is Kenpo X. It is the aerobic karate stuff. I am actually looking forward to it.

I have been surprised by P90X so far. I was an athlete my whole life and up until about a year ago, I worked out regularly. What is great about P90X is that almost ALL of the exercises are completely new to me. I haven't even heard of most of the stuff on the DVDs.

Yoga was especially challenging. I was sweating worse than even a regular workout while doing it. Yesterday was Legs and Back - no real sweat there.

I have not been able to complete all the reps of one single workout, but I can tell I will get better as I go on. After every workout I feel thoroughly "worked-out."

Day 4 of P90X

Still taking care of business with P90X (yes only four days of work so far...) Tonight will be my first soiree into YOGA .

Had an interesting discussion with co-workers today about the death penalty. They were floored that I was against it. I think they were disappointed in me. Oh well, stick to your guns!

P90X Day 1 - Chest and Back

This was an absolute killer. You do twelve exercises two times each. I was pretty angry at myself when I could only do six diamond push-ups after I set a goal of twelve.

I was panting for air and my muscles were burning. I really got a chance to see that even though I have been running for two weeks, I am still hopelessly out of shape. The ab-ripper comes on after the workout and I could only do it for three minutes (it is supposed to last sixteen).

I will have 12 chances to do this specific workout, so I look to get much much better at it. Fortunately, the 55 minutes wen by super-quickly and the workout was fun...at least when I was able to do the exercises.

So I've got 89 more days, and I've got to stick to it. My goal is to lose 25 pounts by April 25. If all the workouts are this intense, that should be a breeze...

Engaged Encounter

Sarah and I went to the Fort Worth Diocese's Engagement Encounter weekend this weekend. The "couch couples" (which is the name for the leaders of the event) told us to think of the entire weekend as an extended date between yourself and your fiancee. The weekend was certainly that - I was afraid of some kumbayah-singing revival and what we got was a great chance to reconnect with each other.
